STRONG, STABLE FIRST RESPONDER DEPARTMENTS
I will support our police, fire, and paramedics by focusing not only on resources, but also on the policies that help experienced employees remain on the job. Strong departments require stabliity, good leadership. accountability, and systems that reduce unnecessary turnover, burnout, overtime. and repeated recruitment costs.
FASTER, MORE ACCOUNTABLE INTERNAL PROCESSES
Personnel matters must be handled fairly. professionally, and with respect for employee rights. But when administrative processes or workers compensation matters take unnecessarily long, staffing, morale. service delivery, and taxpayer costs can all be affected. As a policymaker, I will look closely at procedures that can improve timeliness, consistency, and accountability without interfering in individual cases.
RESTORE EMERGENCY TRANSPORT RIGHTS
I believe residents should not face unnecessary financial hardship simply because they needed emergency transportation. I support restoring Emergency Transport Rights so eligible ambulance and paramedic costs can be billed to insurance, Medicare, or Medi-Cal when applicable instead of placing that financial burden directly on residents.
